Pagani

Pagani are without a doubt one of the most respected and competitive car manufacturers in the world today. The company who only produce one model still manage to keep up with Ferrari and Porches who also manufacture high quality super-cars.

Pagani composite research was founded in 1988 by Horacio Pagani who worked with Lamborghini on sever cars in the past. Soon afterwards Pagani began to design the Fangio F1 to honour F1 driver Juan Manuel Fangio. By 1992 the Fangio F1 was being tested in the wind tunnel and Pagani has agreed a contract with Mercedes-Benz for the supply of V-12 engines. In 1999 the Fangio F1 was presented proudly at the Geneva motor show to massive respect. Its name was also changed to the Pagani Zonda in respect to the desist Juan Manuel Fangio. Early in 2005 Pagani announced it entrance into the American market and that it would triple production of the Zonda in the coming years. In September 2007 the Pagani Zonda was announced as the fastest car in the world but has since been over taken by other super cars. Pagani is a completely independent company but is in close association with Daimler AG. Pagani is also in a close working relation ship with Mercedes and continue to use there V-12 in the Zonda. Pagani’s design capability have also proved helpful in the design of the Chrysler ME Four-Twelve.

2009 should prove and exiting year for Pagani with the announcement that the new model the “Cinque” will be launched. Although similar to the earlier Zonda the cinque will be host to a new version of the Mercedes V-12 and boast stylish aerodynamics. The zonda production is due to be stopped after the first five have been produced. However, critics have claimed that the new model will always be in the shadow of the successful Zonda. Pagani are sure to continue to thrive in the world of super-cars for the foreseeable future.
