Cherished number plates, such as M19 BMX, consist of a string of letters and numbers which provide a unique identifying mark for each vehicle licensed to use the roads in the United Kingdom. The number plates used to display this identifying registration number have to conform to rigorous standards and specifications to ensure clarity and visibility. Recently the regulations pertaining to the display of DVLA registrations have become more and more strict as the authorities attempt to combat crime and traffic offences.
When choosing a personalised number plate, one must be aware that the selected registration plate must not be newer than the vehicle it is being paired with.
