Although many buyers of private number plates choose numbers that represent their names or initials, there are numerous categories of registrations available. While some purchase plates that are personal to them, others prefer to give their vehicles the limelight with number plates that relate to their particular models of car. For example, the proud owner of a classic MG may wish to display the prestigious plate, MG 1 while the driver of a Smart car really would look stylish with the plate SMA 2T.

Flashy or ornamental fonts are not allowable on Car Registration Plates, and only UK national flags are permitted: any other symbols, such as football team logos or religious symbols may not be displayed on private car number plates. The only variant font allowed on cherished number plates (such as HAM 224H) as an option by the regulations is a 3D version of the standard font. The size and spacing of characters on registration plates is also dictated. More information on cherished number plates character spacing is to be found elsewhere on this website.

Cherished number plates is occasionally seen as an odd choice of description for what we provide to our consumers.
