Cherished number plates is sometimes seen as an odd choice of description for what we provide to our consumers. Many people prefer the terms 'personalised registration plates' or 'personal car number plates' - but in many cases, cherished number plates (such as FA51 TAN) is exactly what they are. It is not at all extraordinary for clients to tell us that they have been looking for a specific cherished number plate for some time. There are certain letter and number combinations that have become almost mythical, and which would certainly not lack buyers if they were ever be offered for sale again!
The popularity of private car registrations is increasing in many ways. The number of people buying personal number plates is higher than ever before, and the prices they are paying for top examples are reaching record levels. There is simply no question that we are seeing a real boom in the appeal of cherished numbers, both as an investment and as a fun aspect to car customisation.
Flashy or decorative fonts are not allowed on Car Registration Plates, and only UK national flags are permitted: any other symbols, such as soccer team logos or religious symbols may not be displayed on private car number plates. The only variant font allowed on cherished number plates (such as FA51 TAN) as an option by the regulations is a 3D version of the standard font. The size and spacing of characters on registration plates is also dictated. More information on cherished number plates character spacing is to be found elsewhere on this website.
