Skateboard Number Plates

Skateboards have recently been spotted with number plates attached to the bottom of them. This is not a legal requirement! However Thames Valley police have been getting reports of viewing of this on a regular basis. Apparently the number plates reinforce the skateboards and give them more rigidity.

Alarmingly this has coincided with the number of number plates going missing on cars and other vehicles in the Thames Valley region. Police are hoping that these recent fad passes soon as it is becoming a bit of a nuisance.

There used to be a fad in the 1980’s to steal car badges from the front of cars. They were then worn as necklaces for the youth of that time.  Many a VW or BMW owner would wake up in the morning to be greeted by a gap in the bonnet or front grill where their car make badge used to be. Thankfully this fad didn’t last too long!
