US Voter To Get Personalised Number Plates

If Barack Obama wins the state of Virginia on November 4, Joan Lemon Johnson plans to order a personalised number plate that would read 'Blue ST8'. The last “blue” – Democratic – presidential candidate to win Virginia was her namesake Lyndon Baines Johnson in 1964.

With the U.S. presidential race heating up during its closing few weeks, it seems that the candidates aren’t the only ones planning ahead in hope of a victory. Many thousands of supporters on both sides have been registering their interests in proposed personalised number plates. The number plate bodies throughout the U.S. are reciving thousands of calls and e-mails from potential customers. They are also braced for a rapid influx of orders within minutes after the results are announced.

Besides from plates bearing victory slogans, thousands of plates have also been purchased to support their chosen candidate in the election race. For example the plates BAMA 09 and BAM YEH have been sold recently and have attracted attention from both the media and road users.

With Obama currently leading the polls, it seems very likely that more plates wil be on their way.
