"2 GAY" Licence Plate Is Out Of Its' Closet
18 September 2008

The DVLA has released the flamboyant '2 GAY' registration plate from its closet to be included in the 1,500 others to be sold off at the Haycock Hotel in Wansford, Cambridgeshire where the auction is due to begin on the 24th of September.
The Registration plate has been said to have evoked a keen interest from prospective buyers recently and is expected to sell for thousands of pounds at the prestigious auctions where other notable plates are also up for grabs.
Other notable personalised registrations going under the auctioneers’ hammer include THE 571G, which is a reference to the character of Top Gear’s “tame racing driver” who has developed quite a fan base since the show first began for the second time in 2001.
Many writers reporting on the event have been inevitably drawn to the one of a kind registration plate, which reads ‘TAB 101D’ (TABLOID)
Fans of the nation’s most charming and resourceful secret agent will also be able to buy 0007 DBS.
BOR 11S may entice London Mayor Boris Johnson, or for romantics there’s also KUP 1D and LUS 5T.
In all, 1,500 personalised registrations will be sold over the three days in Wansford.
For personalised or private number plates - known as 'cherished marks' in the trade - it is legal in the UK to use any registration with 2-3 consecutive valid letters and a number 1-999. A large selection of cherished plates are available right here, for superb prices you can’t afford to miss.
