This weekend Cristiano Ronaldo, Manchester United's star forward, purchased the cherished number plate CR 7, representing his initials, and his shirt number, for a huge £150,000!

Earlier this month Ronaldo splashed out on a black Rolls Royce Phantom, taking his total spending with to £490,000.

It is rumoured that the new number plate will not be going on this new car, but on his 'runaround' £140,000 Bentley GT convertible

An inside source says "Ronaldo is developing an obsession with CR 7. It has to be on everything he owns - cars included.". It is also understood he will be opening a nightclub named CR7

Ronaldo has shown what some people will do to get their hands on the perfect personalised number plate, especially when money is no object.
